Though there is no category for best Actor in an Action series , the awards have finally woken up and recognized what drives the movie business ” ACTION” .
The night is still young but for the Action nominees but Richard Madden has scored a major upset and has won the Best Actor in an Drama series (though there is a healthy dose of Action in it)
Madden beat Ozark‘s Jason Bateman, Billy Porter (Pose) and Matthew Rhys (The Americans) and last but not least Stephan James (Homecoming).
Bodyguard follows David Budd (Madden), a heroic but volatile war veteran now working as a Specialist Protection Officer for the Royalty and Specialist Branch (RasP) of London’s Metropolitan Police Service.
When he is assigned to protect the ambitious Home Secretary Julia Montague (Keeley Hawes), Budd finds himself torn between his duty and his beliefs. Responsible for her safety, could he become her biggest threat with what she wants to do.
The Action thriller was developed at BBC and then Syndicated to Netflix where it found monster success on a global platform.
The win only goes to show the power of the Action genre and the fact that with the right edge it’s always a money spinner.
We at amdb.in wish the entire team all the very best.
