Review of Aquaman

Ok folks the wait is finally over and Aquaman has finally hit theaters, over the months building up to the release amdb was the only portal to predict a 90 to 100 million first frame . The prediction did come true as the film opened to 94 million in china first frame and it’s on course to a 90 million domestic when it opens next week in the united states . However does the film hold is what needs to be determined and can this film keep the DC Universe alive or is this the end of it  Let’s find out.

lighthouse keeper Thomas Curry rescues Atlanna, the princess of the underwater nation of Atlantis, during a storm. Soon they fall in love and have a son, Arthur,( AKA Aquaman) who is born with the power to communicate with marine lifeforms. However Atlanna is Supposed to be married to King  who when she bares him a Son and Successor Orm is Banished to the Trenches.

Arthur who’s mostly a loner helps out Human’s who are stuck in crisis on the sea weather it be a boat in a story or a Submarine hijacked by Pirates.  However on the other Side Arthur’s half brother and Current King of the Atlantis has now decided enough is enough and the world must bow down to his command .

In order for him to do that he needs to unite all the under world kings starting with King Nereus ( Dolph Lungren ) who’s Daughter Princess Mera ( Amber Heard) is supposed to be married to Orm, though reluctant an incident convinces Nereus to teach the people on the surface a lesson and Joins forces with Orm to convince the other 2 kins to join their en devour.

Mera is against this plan  and reaches out to Arthur to stop Orm and take over as King of Atlantis  but Arthur does not want to go to Atlantis as he knows what they did to his mother.  Mera leaves with alost cause however soon the sea rises and causes a monster calamity that jeopardizes the life of arthur’s father Thomas curry.

Written by David Lesley johnson and Will be all from a story by James Wan And DC father Geoff Johns Acqaman’s Screenplay fast and entertaining , the Story focuses on a family’s conflict but the pacing makes it a great watch , the Script has it’s moments which make you smile and some which bring tears to your eyes. Thoroughly entertaining and engaging.

Coming to the visual effects , the film is the most visually stunning film one has seen in the last decade . To create a film that’s got 80 percent visual effects with over 10,000 highly complex ed shots with multiple sea creatures is an extremely tough feet and the credit for that goes to the entire visual department .

Of  the action Stunt coordinator Kyle Gardiner brings together a very effective team that plan to the strengths of Mamoa’s Character and physical attributes . A special shout out to Toby fuller who did the rigging for the film and made it extremely fluid.

Of the performances Nichole Kidman is as beautifuk as ever and delivers a powerful performance , she’s written so well and she brings the words out beautifully.    Amber Heard is stunning and plays her part to perfection she’s come a long way and one can definitely see her in more DC Universe films. Patrick wilson as Orm could have been a bit more stronger but is fair , however the film belongs to Jason Mamoa from playing Khal Drogo to Aquaman Mamoa is the new word for Macho he’s spot on in his performance as a detached and complexed Superhero and show’s a wide range of performance . He’s unbelievably  good when it comes to Action and can well be the biggest DC SuperHero in the upcoming films. No one can play Aquaman besides him.

However the biggest thumbs up goes to the ring master of the mega adventure Mr. James Wan who show’s that he’s one of the best directors in the business. Till now we have only seen Mr. Cameron directing Mega scaled films and Wan show’s that he can handle them just as well. His shot taking and his hold on emotional scenes is a master class for upcoming film makers.

On the whole Aquaman is a mega winner at the box office it’s a visual spectacle one who’s likes have not been seen in a long long time. It’s time Mr. Snyder moves  out of the DCEU and let the likes of James Wan , Patty Jenkins and Joss Wehdon take over. Don’t miss Aquaman at any cost.

We at amdb.in wish the entire team all the very best.
