If you are into gore and bloody action then this Japanese manga film is for you. Blade of the Immortal is not for the faint-hearted. This film is based on a manga series created in 1993 by manga artist, illustrator and artist Hiroaki Samura.
Blade of the Immortal is a brutal fantasy revenge film, with crazy sword-wielding slashers. The celebrated Japanese director, Takashi Miike, has generally been famous for his gruesome, in-your-face, bloody action full off dismembered limbs and slashed faces. This is the director’s 100th film and he unashamedly sells it with his usual signature style of non-stop blood erupting scenes.
In this setting, the sword-swinging action happens in feudal Japan, where we find a man cursed with immortality until he can kill enough evil men. When a young girl recruits him as a bodyguard, the duo set out on a bloodbath journey to set right those who have wronged them.
