Ridley Scott is a visionary in creating futuristic scenarios. In Blade Runner 2049 he brings out not just a new world but a new civilisation.
Blade Runner was first released in 1982 and received mixed reviews. Viewers were not sure about director Ridley Scott’s dystopian sci-fi noir depiction of our future world, it was too depressing. But over time, the film has become a cult classic, often appearing on lists featuring the most important films of the the last three decades.
For a long time a second film was expected, but after 35 years since the original, Blade Runner 2049 will finally arrive with a super cast and another dystopian world.
In this version, thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years. Jared Leto plays sinister villain Neander Wallace, who seems to spend most of the time threatening people.
Expected to be released in early October 2017, watch the trailer first.
