Breaking- Dave Bautista’s Action comedy My Spy has been Acquired by Amazon Studios.

Dave Bautista is fast growing into an Action Hero to Recon with after the success of Avengers End game and the recently released Struber with Kumail Nanjiani he’s back with him next however the film wont have a theatrical release.

With the recent shutdown of movie theaters due to COVID-19, the STX action family comedy My Spywhich was last scheduled for theatrical release on April 17, is heading to Amazon Prime.

My Spy follows JJ a hardened CIA operative (Dave Bautista) who has been demoted and finds himself at the mercy of a precocious 9-year-old girl, named Sophie (Chloe Coleman) where he has been sent undercover begrudgingly to surveil her family.

When Sophie discovers hidden cameras in her apartment, she uses her tech savviness to locate where the surveillance operation is set.  In exchange for not blowing JJ’s cover Sophie convinces him to spend time with her and teach her to be a spy. Despite his reluctance JJ finds he is no match for Sophie’s disarming charm and wit

Amazon Studios acquired the Peter Segal-directed PG  movie from STXFilms and MWM Studios for U.S. and key foreign territories like India and the United Kingdom. A streaming date will be scheduled in the future however as per our sources it will open April End.

This is a smart move from Amazon whom have opted for an Action film just a day after rival netflix opened the trailer of their Chris Hemsworth starrer Extraction which has won a thunderous response with a solid A score on Trend track.

The film also stars Kristen Schaal, Parisa Fitz-Henley, Chloe Coleman, Ken Jeong and Devere Rogers and is written by Jon and Erich Hoeber.

The film is produced by  Chris Bender, Peter Segal, Jake Weiner, Robert Simonds, Gigi Pritzker along with  Dave Bautista .
