Jared Leto who is predominantly known for only doing films that are off beat and catering to the oscars has decided to rethink his career a bit. He was seen as the Joker , the most iconic Villain in the DC Universe . People so loved his performance so much that DC has now decided to launch a stand alone film with him.
Just when Leto though things could not get any better for him The Oscar-winning actor has confirmed to star in Morbius, Sony’s latest entry into its Marvel-based, Spider-Man– Universe or SMU
Daniel Espinosa, the Scandinavian filmmaker who directed Safe House with Ryan Reynolds and last year’s sci-fi thriller Life, will direct the film which is said to be shot in Native 3 D .
Dr. Michael Morbius, is a scientist who suffered from a rare blood disease . A genius he attempted to cure himself only to for the treatment to go horribly wrong. Instead of being cured, he becomes afflicted with a condition that is a form of vampirism — his thirst for blood, along with fangs and super strength — makes his one of Spider mans greatest nemesis.
Morbius was created by writer Roy Thomas and artist Gil Kane and first appeared in 1971’s Amazing Spider-Man . Burk Sharpless and Matt Sazama, the duo who created Netflix’s Lost in Space remake have been got on to pen the script.
Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach will produce with Lucas Foster. An palak Patel from Sony will look into production on the studio’s behalf.
Sony under the new leadership of Anthony VinciQuerra has ramped up it’s slate considerably in the action and Super Hero Space.
