Breaking News- Cate Shortland to direct Black Widow Stand alone film.

Almost all MCU characters have got a stand alone film and now the latest to join them is non other than Natasha Romanov aka Black Widow.

Seeing the success of Wonder Women and the Buzz on Captain Marvel , Marvel has decided to go ahead with the Black Widow Stand alone film which will be directed by non other than Cate Shortland .

The Australian film maker is best known for  the Nazi drama Lore. A female filmmaker was the priority , seeing the success of Wonder women and the amazing pair of Gal Gadot and patty Jenkins it made sense to find the next awesome women pair.

However Shortland’s handling of the female lead in Lore, the critically acclaimed 2012 film that tells of a young woman who leads her siblings through Germany as the Allied forces roll in won her the part beating top contenders such as  Amma Asante (Belle, A United Kingdom) and Maggie Betts (Novitiate) both extremely well respected directors.

It’s said that Scarlett  Johansson also pushed Shortland as her choice. The film is written by Jac Schaeffer  she has recently written   The Hustle the upcoming female-centric remake of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.

Johansson’s Black Widow is reportedly set before the events of the first Avengers movie and sees the actress reprise the role of the Russian spy turned superhero.

Fan’s of Black widow are super excited especially since Johansson can have a massive a massive draw in a standalone Action film. Her last outing Lucy did exceptional business at the box office.

We at amdb.in wish the entire team all the very best.
