David Leitch all set to turn producer with Novel Friday Black adaptation

Though he’s been credited as a producer for films he’s directed the Deadpool 2 and Atomic Blonde Director David Leitch is all set to turn full fledged producer with  Nana Kwame Adjei-Brenyah’s New York Times bestseller Friday Black.

The book is  is the seventh story in the book and is set on Black Friday in a dystopian near future. the Story follows , a department store salesman, who copes with vicious, insatiable Black Friday shoppers while attempting to win a sales contest among employees, in order to give the prize jacket to his mother as a gift.

The film has got monster potential in the Action genre and with Universal Acquiring the rights  for Leitch with them coming off a super successful association on Hobbs and Shaw the film is set to be a winner. 

Friday Black is the first book from Adjei-Brenyah, and was one of last year’s National Book Foundation “5 Under 35” award recipients.

Leitch is producing along with his producing Partner and wife of Many years  Kelly McCormick , they have successfully collaborated on films like Deadpool 2 and Atomic Blonde.

Currently Leitch is prepping Atomic Blonde 2 along with another untitled film for Universal  and the recently acquired Fox.
