Hellboy is a supernatural action-thriller based on the Dark Horse Comic Hellboy: Seed of Destruction by Mike Mignola, which was made into a film in 2004. A sequel, Hellboy II: The Golden Army, was released in 2008. Fans have been asking about a third “Hellboy” for years, following the original 2004 film and the 2008 sequel, both of which starred Ron Perlman as the main superhero and were directed by Guillermo del Toro.
For the third installment of the film, Perlman will not be in it and del Toro will not be the director. This time it’s David Harbour as the demonic hero and Neil Marshall will direct Hellboy: Rise of the Blood Queen. Ian McShane will play Hellboy’s adoptive father, Professor Broom. The story will see the main character battling a sorceress, we don’t know who she is yet. The project is aiming to start shooting in UK and Bulgaria this September.
Sounds like a helluva Millennium’s Hellboy reboot!
