REVOLT stars Lee Pace as a US soldier attempting to fight back against a brutal alien invasion. This kind of film seems a bit like a blend of District 9 and Transformers, with robot-like alien creatures taking over.
Set in the war-ravaged African countryside, an American soldier (Lee Pace) and a French foreign aid worker (Bérénice Marlohe) teaming up to survive an alien onslaught. As they journey through the battlefield in search of refuge, their bond is tested when the soldier discovers his true identity. REVOLT is an action-packed sci-fi thriller about humankind’s last stand against a cataclysmic alien invasion. The film also includes Amy Louise Wilson, Alan Santini, and Tom Fairfoot.
The film has some solid VFX work and despite the formulaic script, it seems like an enjoyable sci-fi film. REVOLT is directed by American filmmaker Joe Miale, a former editor making his feature directorial debut after a number of short films previously, including Assassin’s Creed: Checkmate and Half-Life: Raise the Bar. The screenplay is written by Joe Miale and Rowan Athale.
It’s releasing this weekend.
