Between Suicide Squad and Blade Runner 2049, actor Jared Leto has made a name for himself in the nerdy character space. Now, Jared Leto is in talks for a prominent role in Valiant’s cinematic universe.
This will be for Sony’s adaptation of Bloodshot, which was a five-picture deal between Valiant and the movie studio, Sony acquired the Bloodshot series in 2012. Leto would be playing the main character, a nanobot-infected killing machine who turns on his creators and becomes a violent force for good.
The background story: A ruthless killer for the mob who is set up by the family and framed for a murder. He instead goes into Witness Protection, but is betrayed by an FBI agent guarding him, kidnapped and forcibly subjected to an experimental program in which his body is injected with microscopic computers called nanites. They erase his brain and rebuild it and his body to be a weapon with superhuman strength and healing powers.
Mentioned recently, Valiant has also captured Dave Bautista for their other superhero, Eternal Warrior.
