The release date for Legendary’s Pacific Rim Uprising is being pushed by a month to March 23 2018. It is the sequel to Pacific Rim which was released in 2013 and received lukewarm reviews. The film was about giant robots created to fight equally giant monsters that were from the Pacific Ocean. Later, it was discovered that the monsters were actually emerging from an interdimensional breach in the ocean floor.
After many years of contemplation, a sequel was finally decided. And Pacific Rim Uprising looks even more epic. Pacific Rim ended with Stacker Pentecost(Idris Elba) and Raleigh (Charlie Hunnam) dying, after they had bombed the ocean floor, believing to have closed the Breach, but unfortunately the enemy has grown more intelligent with a rogue character emerging to threaten their surface world. John Boyega stars as the main hero, prodigal son – Jacob Pentecost.
Pacific Rim Uprising will coincide with the released date of Liongate’s Jamie Foxx-starrer Robin Hood. And, it will release a week before Steven Spielberg’s Ready Player One from Warner Bros.
