John Wick literally revived Keanu Reeves career it also gave Hollywood 2 fantastic director in David Lietch and Chad Stehelski . The first film was a money spinner for the producers who made the film on a modest budget and grossed close to 4 times it’s investment.
The Sequel too was a hit and was well appreciated . The makers are so confident of the franchise that they have decided to make a third film and release it bang in the middle of Summer 2019.
The film will open on the 17th of May 2019 . This is very uncommon for films the scale of John Wick which usually finds theaters in Jan to early or post Oct to early December. Summit/ Lionsgate have decided to take on Guy Ritchies Alladin that opens a week after.
The last film ended with the hit being out on John Wich by his biggest Supporter and the owner of the continental Winston (Ian Mcshane ) for breaking the rules of the hotel. The film ended on a fantastic note keeping the fans begging for thenext sequel.
Chad Stahelski who helmed part 2 and the original 2014 version returns for a third time. Ditto for screenwriter Derek Kolstad who has penned the first two movies.
Combined both the Jon Wicks have grossed around 270 million USD. Let’s hope the third one can make the a half a billion franchise.
