Ex U S special forces turned Primatalogist Davis Okoye works for the anti-poaching unit. Davis likes human less and animals more . He has a special bond with George A silver Back gorilla who Davis rescued from poachers.
On the Other side Claire Wyden owner of Energee are performing experiments in space on animals where they are genetically mutated to become stronger faster and bigger. The experiment is a success however the scientists did not anticipate the size the animals wold turn to. Soon it takes a turn for the worst and the animals starts tearing apart the ship .
One of the astronauts manages to take the patterns and exit in a vessel , however the vessel soon explodes in Space sending the particles and pattern into earth atmosphere. The pattern lands in 3 places and leaks a Gas that infects a wolf , A crocodile and the gentle giant George.
George is not only bigger now but is even more aggressive, the wolf on the other side has mutated to a blend between a Bat and a wolf he can fly too and the crocodile has becomes a 100 times bigger than he was.
The Beasts are unstoppable, Davis along with Dr Kate Caldwell must find the antidote to stop these monsters before they end up tearing up the Entire United States of America.
Rampage is Kong on Steroids , the film is Action packed with some of the best ActionSequences seen in recent time.
The visual effects are fantastic and photo real. The screenplay is tight and keeps you engaged through out especially the climax.
Coming to the performance Dawyne Johnson is simply fantastic , he’s grown from strength to strength and that shows in his acting chops in Rampage. It’s not easy to act with out an actor to play off and most of Johnson’s scenes are with the CGI Gorilla. Well done Dwayne.
Naomie Harris, who plays Dr. Kate Caldwell is a fine performer and plays her part to perfection adding the extra kick to Johnson s role. surprisingly one of the best performances in the film is by Jeffry Dean Thomas who plays Harvey Russell an agent of OGA his Texas Accent and his witty one are a real highlight in the film.
Director Brad Peyton handles the film extremely well and brings in a fine blend of Visual effects and Live action performances.
On the whole Rampage is film that stays true to it’s audience in the 4 quadrant group . it’s entertaining tightly woven and the best your money can buy this week at the box office go check it out.
At the Box office expect nothing under a 120 million plus world wide first frame
