This is truly breaking news , Jason Blum’s Blumhouse that’s known as a Horror specialist with movies like insidious and many many others has now decided he too wants to jump the Super Hero Band Wagon with The American Way.
The Super hero film will be directed by John Riddley The Oscar-winning 12 Years A Slave writer and creator/exec producer of the ABC anthology series American Crime.
The American Way tells the story of 60s superheroes called The Civil Defense Corps, each with special powers but also a specific ethnic makeup designed to make segments of the American population feel safe and represented. There is also a group of supervillains pitted against the heroes.
The comic was published as a six-issue monthly miniseries last year by DC Entertainment’s Vertigo label.
This news truly goes to show the power of The Action Genre as someone as famous as Jason Blum decides to make a Switch to the more lucrative space.
