Dwayne the Rock Johnson is one of the biggest Action stars and highest paid Actors in the world . He’s found enourmous success ever since he stepped into main stream Action films with the fast and furious franchise.
Dwayne has had one of the best years last year with the monster success of Jumanji which touched a billion dollars world wide and earlier this year his Rampage did a business of a little under half a billion .
In just 2 weeks Dwayne ‘s latest outing Skyscraper is about to hit theaters and the latest trailer promises it to add to Johnson’s success.
Former FBI agent and amputee Will Sawyer lives in the tallest and “safest” skyscraper in Hong Kong with his family. The skyscraper itself, known as “The Pearl” houses several floors that function as their own society and despite the risks highlighted by Sawyer, who is the building’s head of security, his bosses insist that it is impenetrable.
True to Sawyer’s belief, the building comes under attack by terrorists, forcing Sawyer to take action. Matters are complicated further when he finds himself framed for the attack, and his family trapped above the resulting fire line.
Johnson has a knack for taking old subjects and revamping it with all the technical revolutions . ( rampage, King Kong ) Skyscraper is no different taking the idea of Die Hard and mixing with non stop makes for a very entertaining watch .
The first 2 trailers were tracking with a Solid B+ with an Average trend track of 42 % rating of A- and 58 % ratings of B.
However the latest trailer has received an average B in 2400 trend tracks , that being said the film is trending best in China and should open to almost 20% higher than north America.
Currently the film is on track to a 25 million first frame domestic and 50 million in the middle kingdom. The numbers could go higher as Legendary pictures who is one of the producers is owned by the Wanda group who has the largest single brand screen counts in both China and America.
Set to hit theaters world wide on the 13th of July .
