Super Girl has made history with the origin story of Dreamer, the first transgender action hero on an American television series.
The Actor playing the Part is Nichole Maines , Maines, who was also featured in HBO’s doc series The Trans List won the part when an international search to fill the Dreamer role casting was announced at Comic Con last year.
Maines joined the Supergirl cast in the end of 2018 as cub reporter Nia Nal who changes to her costumed career as Dreamer who began as a mystery the journalist grappled to understand her eerily prophetic dreams and the sleeping spells that bring the visions on.
In the latest episode, called Blood Memory, Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) accompanies Nia to revisit her roots to hopefully glean clues about Nia’s past so she might understand her jarring visions of the future.
