It\u2019s surpassed\u00a0The Fate Of The Furious<\/strong>\u00a0($393M\/RMB 2.6B) to become the No. 1 movie in\u00a0China\u00a0this year and the No. 2 ever, all combined.<\/p>\n

It has even overtaken the No. 2 Chinese movie ever,\u00a0Monster Hunt,<\/strong> which grossed about $382M in 2015. Scoring another RMB 660M to surpass\u00a0The Mermaid’s<\/strong> RMB 3.39B as the No. 1 movie ever in China.<\/p>\n

Wolf Warriors 2\u00a0<\/strong>currently has the 2nd biggest gross for a single territory in 2017. It\u2019s ahead of\u00a0Wonder Woman’s<\/strong>\u00a0projected North American haul\u00a0through Sunday of $399.4M. Domestically,\u00a0Beauty And The Beast\u00a0<\/strong>still reigns supreme with $504M.<\/p>\n

Director and star Wu\u00a0told\u00a0China Daily<\/em>\u00a0this week \u2014 which also marked the 90th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese army \u2014 \u201cAs of now, China has few such military movies. We are still exploring the genre and hope to raise the bar.\u201d<\/p>\n
