According to Hasbro global brand licensing boss Simon Waters, \u201cthe world has changed, and I think you\u2019re going to see G.I. Joe changing with it. There\u2019s going to be a much more contemporary approach to the whole franchise, and that will allow us to develop different characters\u201d.<\/p>\n
The Franchise is in for a reboot, while one might contemplate \u00a0why this decision we might have the answer. Transformers the last knight fared badly at the box office and is facing a major franchise fatigue . We feel Hasbro felt that GI Joe was going down the same route \u00a0, with it’s declining merchandise and toy sales \u00a0Hasbro must have felt it’s best for them and Paramount ( who it’s self has gone through a major change \u00a0with Studio head Brad Grey passing away ) to reboot both Franchises.<\/p>\n
We feel this is a smart move and a cross between both will be a major draw at the Box office. Everyone has their Shared Universe be it Disney or Warner so why not paramount?<\/p>\n
