However he is now back with a bang.<\/p>\n<p>Universal Pictures are teaming on a new version of his 1989 Hong King crime classic\u00a0<em><a id=\"auto-tag_the-killer\" href=\"http:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/the-killer\/\" data-tag=\"the-killer\">The Killer<\/a><\/em>. It is intended as a star vehicle for Oscar-winner Lupita Nyong\u2019o who was recently seen in Black Panther.\u00a0She is negotiating to play the assassin, a role originated by\u00a0<a id=\"auto-tag_chow-yun-fat\" href=\"http:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/chow-yun-fat\/\" data-tag=\"chow-yun-fat\">Chow Yun-fat<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Eran Creevy\u00a0 the British Director\/ Screen Writer who was directed James McAvoy&#8217;s Welcome to the Punch\u00a0rewrote the script based on an original draft by\u00a0<em>Cloverfield Lane<\/em>\u2018s Josh Campbell and Matt Stuecken.<\/p>\n<p>Nyong\u00a0will play the assassin who puts her own life on the line to save a woman whom she accidentally blinded in her last hit.<\/p>\n<p>The film will be produced by Mark Gordon and touchstone pictures. Touchstone aggressively works with Jerry Bruckheimer films and is known for\u00a0stylized violent scenes.
