This was in the making for a while , one of the biggest video games to hit the gaming industry Halo is finally going to adapted for Television.<\/p>\n

After many years sitting in development, a\u00a0Halo\u00a0<\/em>TV series based on the epic video game franchise has officially been given the go at Showtime.<\/p>\n

In the distant past, a powerful race called the\u00a0Forerunners<\/a>\u00a0fought an alien parasite known as the\u00a0Flood<\/a>. The Flood, which spread through infestation of sentient life, overran much of the\u00a0Milky Way Galaxy<\/a>. One of the races affected was humanity, who came into conflict with the Forerunners as a result. Exhausted by their war and after having explored all other options, the Forerunners conceived a weapon of last resort to combat the Flood, called the Halo Array.<\/p>\n

Showtime announced recently that it has picked up 10 episodes of the live-action scripted series, with Kyle Killen (Awake<\/em>) set to serve as exec producer, writer and showrunner. Rupert Wyatt (Rise of the Planet of the Apes<\/em>) will direct multiple episodes of the series.<\/p>\n

Showtime CEO David Nevins was heard saying that\u00a0Halo was his<\/em>\u00a0most ambitious series ever, and he\u00a0 expected the fans who have been anticipating it for years to be thoroughly rewarded.<\/p>\n

Halo\u00a0<\/em>will be executive produced by Killen, Wyatt, Scott Pennington and Amblin TV’s Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank and\u00a0 The series will be distributed globally by Showtime corporate sibling CBS Studios International run be Less Moonvez<\/p>\n

To date, the\u00a0Halo\u00a0<\/em>video game franchise has sold more than 77 million copies worldwide and grossed more than $5 billion in sales.\u00a0 The show is based on the very first version of the game\u00a0\u00a0an epic 26th century conflict between humanity and an alien threat known as the Covenant.<\/p>\n
