{"id":4170,"date":"2018-10-17T02:57:48","date_gmt":"2018-10-17T02:57:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/amdb.in\/?p=4170"},"modified":"2018-10-17T02:57:48","modified_gmt":"2018-10-17T02:57:48","slug":"breaking-briarcliff-lands-us-all-rights-for-el-chicano","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/amdb.in\/index.php\/2018\/10\/17\/breaking-briarcliff-lands-us-all-rights-for-el-chicano\/","title":{"rendered":"Breaking- Briarcliff lands US All rights for El Chicano"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We recently broke the news of Joe Carnahan&#8217;s War Party that is set out to produce Action films landing a plump founding of over 50 Million Dollars .\u00a0 One was wonder if the amount was too high for a specialized genre enterprise however the answer is right out there.<\/p>\n<p>El Chicano which is the lowest budget action film in the War Party slate has landed a All US rights deal with Briarcliff.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0<a id=\"auto-tag_el-chicano\" href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/el-chicano\/\" data-tag=\"el-chicano\">El Chicano<\/a><\/em>, a Latino superhero film with an all-Hispanic cast that just had its premiere at the Los Angeles Film Festival and won rave reviews.<\/p>\n<p>.\u00a0<em>El Chicano<\/em>\u00a0marks the feature film directorial debut of 25-year veteran stuntman\u00a0<a id=\"auto-tag_ben-hernandez-bray\" href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/ben-hernandez-bray\/\" data-tag=\"ben-hernandez-bray\">Ben Hernandez Bray<\/a>, who co-wrote the script with\u00a0<a id=\"auto-tag_joe-carnahan\" href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/joe-carnahan\/\" data-tag=\"joe-carnahan\">Joe Carnahan<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The action film tells the story of twin brothers Diego and Pedro (both played by Ra\u00fal Castillo), who grew up together on the streets of East Los Angeles. As adults, their lives took radically different paths as Diego became a celebrated detective for the LAPD, and Pedro turned to a dead-end life of crime.<\/p>\n<p>When clues start connecting Pedro\u2019s death to a case Diego is working on, a mythological figure from his youth, The Ghetto Grim Reaper, draws Diego in deeper than he ever expected. He becomes that figure, an Hispanic version of Batman or Black Panther.<\/p>\n<p>Carnahan is producing\u00a0 with legendary action film producer\u00a0<a id=\"auto-tag_lorenzo-di-bonaventura\" href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/lorenzo-di-bonaventura\/\" data-tag=\"lorenzo-di-bonaventura\">Lorenzo di Bonaventura<\/a>\u00a0.<\/p>\n<p>The film also stars George Lopez, Aimee Garcia, Emilio Rivera, Kate del Castillo, Mr. Criminal, Noel G. Marco Rodriguez, Marlene Forte, Jose Pablo Cantillo, Sal Lopez, David Casta\u00f1eda and Armida Lopez.<\/p>\n<p>Bray has worked with Carnahan on most of his projects and was keen to take this project up.<\/p>\n<p>Briarcliff CEO Ortenberg has done multiple\u00a0 films with Carnahan like\u00a0<em>The Grey, <\/em>and<em>\u00a0Narc,\u00a0<\/em>and aside from\u00a0<em>The Grey<\/em>\u00a0he worked with Grillo on\u00a0<em>End of Watch<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>Homefront<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>What&#8217;s interesting is that the film has managed a real sale covering most of it&#8217;s cost .
