Video Game to Screen adaptation is the the latest trend and for good reason, the game has an built in fan base that is dedicated to the franchise and who love to consume the content on any trans media plat from. Not to be left behind in the race is Netflix. The streaming Giant has acquired the rights of Gear of War and has left no stones unturned to getting the best talent to develop it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Netflix<\/a>\u00a0has tapped Academy Award nominee\u00a0Jon Spaihts<\/a>\u00a0(Dune<\/em>:\u00a0Part One<\/em>\u00a0&\u00a0Two<\/em>) to pen its live-action\u00a0Gears of War<\/a><\/em>\u00a0film. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00a0Gears of Wa<\/em>r is set in a dystopian world which is divided and on the brink of collapse and faces total extinction by the Locust, a monstrous threat from below. Delta Squad, a ragtag fireteam led by disgraced sergeant Marcus Fenix, is then charged with leading humanity\u2019s last stand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Netflix along with The Coalition announced the adaptation in November as parts of it’s Q3 strategy to boost investor confidence. They have now locked in a writer as they package the product together. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Known for his work on features including\u00a0Passengers<\/em>,\u00a0Doctor Strange<\/em>,\u00a0Prometheus<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0The Darkest Hour<\/em>, Spaihts nabbed an Oscar nom for co-writing Denis Villeneuve\u2019s Warner Bros epic\u00a0Dune<\/em> that did extremely well on Amazon Prime . Seeing the success netflix would like to replicate it on their platform as well. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
