Jason Statham and DJ Caruso to come together for Killer’s Game

Now this film has been in the news for a long long time and finally it seems to be a go. Jason Statham is in negotiations to star in The Killer’s Game, an action thriller that D.J. Caruso will be directing.

Caruso who is coming off for the success of XXX The Return of Zander Cage and Statham who has recently finished filming his next with Di Bonaventura Pictures will be coming together. STX Films is in discussions to finance and distribute the film.

Based on a Jay Bonansinga novel, the script centers on a veteran assassin who is diagnosed with a life-threatening illness and takes a hit out on himself to avoid the pain that is destined to follow. After ordering the kill, he finds out that he was misdiagnosed and must then fend off the army of former colleagues trying to kill him.

The book was published in 1997, and Hollywood has been trying to adapt since it was in manuscript form. Michael Keaton and Wesley Snipes were attached to star in the project at various points in its development.

Multiple directors have come and gone off the script  Alex Proyas, John Woo, Pitof, Rupert Wainwright, Renny Harlin and Simon Crane have all contributed to the film. Even legendary commercial writter Simon Kinberg has worked on a draft.

Curuso who pulled together a decently well done Action film in XXX and Statham who is pretty much considered the biggest Action Star in Hollywood will make an interesting pair to come together. Keep reading this space for more.
