Taron Egerton as the next Robin Hood has been delayed six months. Lionsgate chose to delay it’s origins film. If released in March 2018, it would have coincided with Universal’s Pacific Rim sequel.

A number of Robin Hood movies have been made in the past century. Recently, in 2010, Ridley Scott directed Russell Crowe and Cate Blanchett in Universal’s Robin Hood, which made $321 million worldwide.
Lionsgate’s Robin Hood Origins story centers on Robin Hood being a war-hardened crusader and joining with a Moorish commander in a valiant revolt against the corrupt English crown. The film will also be released in Imax.

Besides star Taron Egerton, Jamie Foxx will be Little John and Eve Hewson as Maid Marian. Fifty Shades of Grey star Jamie Dornan will portray Will Scarlett, the half-brother of Robin Hood.
