Trailer of Korean film Asura :The city of Madness

Korea is known to deliver some of the best action thrillers in the business but of late thier work has gone below mediocre , once the Pioneer’s of the Genre now are struggling to put together a good action film. Coming from the Same land is director Kim Sung su’s Asura  the film Star’s actor Jung woo Sung who has united with Kim on a few project’s earlier.

The film is Korea’s entry into the TIFF and shall premiere there on the 12th of September. The only action film to make an impact at the TIFF was the Raid Redemption  in 2011 which one the Mid night Madness People’s choice award . Asura, has a promising title but sadly doesn’t provide any thrill or exceptional action .

Detective Han has been engaged in nefarious activities ever since his wife was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Faced with accumulating medical bills, Han has decided to hand in his badge and work for  Mayor, Park. Mayor Park wants to push through a multi-million-dollar development contract, and will go to any lengths to ensure it happens as long as Han does the dirty work. But Han’s involvement in two high profile cases, the disappearance of a high-profile witness and the strange death of a fellow officer, gets him sudden unwanted attention. As Internal Affairs possesses evidence of Han’s misdeeds, he has no choice but to covertly work for both sides — and place himself in twice the danger. Which side does Han Choose and what will happen of Han makes the rest of the Story.

The Film has traces of Andy lau’s Infernal affair’s , but will it have the “edge of your seat” thrill is yet to be seen. The film opens in Korea on the 28th of September.
