This is arguably the biggest deal Netflix has cracked moving them into a different zone as streaming giants. Red Notice that Stars Dwayne Johnson , Ryan Reynolds and Gal Gadot that was set up at Universal has now moved homes and come to Netflix.
Netflix has greenlit and set a 2020 production start for the Rawson Marshall Thurber-directed and -scripted Red Notice. Rawson Marshall who last made Sky Scraper with Johnson is back with him again.
Though Originally it was Johnson and Gadot who were attached to the project Ryan Reynolds is the latest addition to the project.
As per sources Thurber drafted his pitch into a screenplay with a budget, when the filmmakers sensed hesitation from Universal in a meeting late last month, even though the studio had dated the picture for November 13, 2020 h decided to move.
The deal was a Hush hush deal that was concluded during the Holidays of the 4th of July. All the 3 Stars are on top of their game and Johnson shares an amazing relationship with Universal however the deal could not be worked out.
All in all, Netflix has committed to arguably its biggest star-package feature film to date, with a production budget in the $130 to 150 million range.
