Holt Mccallany is all set to star along side Rami Malik in the CIA world Action thriller Amateur for 20th century fox. The actor join an ensemble that will also include Rachel Brosnahan, Caitríona Balfe, Laurence Fishburne and Adrian Martinez.
Based on a novel by acclaimed author Robert Littell, Amateur tells the story of Charles Heller (Rami), a CIA cryptographer who, after his wife is tragically killed in a London terrorist attack, demands his bosses go after them.
When it becomes clear they won’t act due to conflicting internal priorities, he blackmails the agency into training him and letting him go after them himself. Will the bosses comply and was his wife’s killing an accident or part of a larger plan. .
Directed by Slow Horses‘ James Hawes its screenplay adapted by Ken Nolan ( black Hawk down, Transformer the Dark night ) . Nolan is the right guy to bring together commercial yet critical elements for the film to succeed .
McCallany will play CIA Deputy Director Moore, a “kill whoever we want” kind of guy who has spent his career behind a desk and has never seen a battle on the field but is ruthless to the core.
Lets hope we get to see Holt soon in yet another amazing performance.
