Amazon Studio’s two best performing shows till date are The Boy’s and Jack Ryan however they don’t have half the slate that Netflix has in it’s Action Arsenal and now they want to boost their own action slate with a potential Action franchise in the making.
Amazon Studios has won Heads of State, a pitch package designed to re-team John Cena and Idris Elba who have worked together recently in James Gunn’s Suicide Squad and have created magic.
Though one doesn’t know much about the project our sources tell us it’s a cross over between Airforce one and Hobbs and Shaw set on an airplane.
Though many Studio’s pitched for the film amazon came in and swept the floor off with a massive six figure deal on the script and a north of 50 million for the World wide rights.
The film is produced by Peter Safran, Safran also served as a producer on The Suicide Squad and saw the chemistry between the two co actors. He then put together Heads of State which has worked out well for him.
The Safran company is co producing a slew of other action films including Aquaman, Shazam, along the The Peacemaker, a Suicide Squad spinoff.
