Apple has had some success with their shows however their latest deal is all set them to become a key contender in the digital race.
Apple Original Films headed by Zack Amburg and Jamie Erlicht has closed the worldwide rights on Argylle, the next film to be directed by Matthew Vaughn ( kingsman franchise) and produced by his MARV banner.
The deal has been closed for a mega price of 200 million plus, since it will be a digital release one would wonder why to shell out Mega bucks , however apple is looking at this film to spin into a major franchise and the money is well spent.
The film has a mega cast of Henry Cavill, Sam Rockwell, Bryce Dallas Howard, Bryan Cranston, Catherine O’Hara, John Cena and Samuel L. Jackson. The film will also launch Dua Lipa
Vaughn said that he was thrilled to team with Apple to bring the most compelling spy thriller he had ever read to the only streaming service that could create a potential franchise of the scale and quality for global audiences to experience .
The film, based on the soon-to-be-launched spy novel of the same name from author Ellie Conway, follows the world’s greatest spy as he is caught up in a globe-trotting adventure. .
Apple is agressevly pushing it’s action slate as they also have the Will Smith-Antoine Fuqua thriller Emancipation based on Black Slavery.
