XXX the Return of Xander Cage has opened in India with a very favorable response. The film did a business of close to 17 to 18 crs Weekend , however the film started late shows on Friday that stunted the growth . The strategy of starting late shows has backfired as the film was very hot with Diesel coming down to promote it.
The late start cost the film to lose out on an average of 3 shows and cost the film a good 4 crs business. The film is trending well and weekdays whole easily go by in the 3 plus crs range . It’s safe to say that Xander Cage should easily do a business of 32 crs week one. The film had Stiff competition form 3 big south Indian films and one big Hindi film. However it has beaten the Hindi Film by a huge margin of nearly 40 % .
Though the Hindi film was starring an A list Actor and Actress and promoted and Produced by a Leading Studio and Production house, People flocked to see the Action Flick XXX. as the film scored with all age demographics , the footfall of Men and Women were on power.
Set to hit north America , Hong Kong and Thailand on the 19th it’s safe to say that XXX will have smashing numbers. An early estimate of North America is a solid 60 to 80 mil weekend and a life time of 160 mil plus easily. It will open to number 1 in Hong Kong and Thailand , with business in Hong Kong of close to 10 mil and 5 mil for Thailand. It opens world wide post 19th. And China Soon After.
XXX is on it’s way to grossing a half Billion USD easy. A smashing hit and a great start to Paramount’s Year. Brad Grey will be a happy man.
