Frank Grillo is fast making a name for himself in the Action Circuit . After his super block buster hit in the middle kingdom Wolf Warriors 2, Grillo has now become a bankable actor in the Asian Market and that has prompted a bunch of indie producers to approach him and star him in their films .
The latest is the adaptation of Frank Bill’s 2013 novel with the same name. The actioner from writer-director Tim Sutton has Margaret Qualley co starring with Grillo .
The plot centers on a man hard up for cash and determined to support his family who competes in the Donnybrook, a legendary bare-knuckle brawl where a $100,000 prize goes to the last man standing.
Grillo has proven his Bare nuckle skills in his tele series The Kingdom and he should be able to easily pull off the part.
David Lancaster the producer of whiplash is producing along with Rumble Films’ Stephanie Wilcox. The movie is currently being filmed in Cincinnati and Sierra / Affinity is handling the sales on the film.
