Rob Cohen easily one of the biggest Action film directors of the early 2000’s considered the successor to Micheal Bay soon faded away from the memory of Hollywood.
After successfully directing The Fast and the furious and XXX and big budget Stealth Cohen soon went on to direct Movies like Alex Cross and most recently Hurrican Heist both tiny budget films , it seems the studios don’t want to work with him , however things are about to change for Mr. Cohen as he has attracted a rising Star for his film.
Emma Dumont, who stars in Fox’s X-Men based series, The Gifted, has been tapped as the eponymous lead in Razor, a film from director Rob Cohen, which he adapted from the comic book series of the name by Everett Hartsoe.
Dumont stars as Nicole Mitchell, a young woman who, as a ten-year-old, witnesses her cop father’s murder by a gang of upwardly mobile crime figures who want to stop his investigation into their criminal activities. The trauma from the death of her father lands her in a sanitarium for a decade in which time she develops a complex plan of revenge one which no one can imagine.
Women Action revenge films is the hottest thing today with Peppermint Staring Jeniffer Garner gaining great traction . Razor has franchise written all over it and Cohen who has given birth to 2 franchises would well make this trilogy .
Cohen was heard mentioning that keeping Emma’s Ballet Dance back ground in mind he has started her training in Karv Maga and MMA. He also added that Emma was born to play Razor. She is the embodiment of Everette Hartsoe’s comic character come to life.
Producer Jeff Most will produce Razor along with Grant Cramer (Lone Survivor), Anna Wang and Philip Lee (The Dark Knight). Keep reading this space for more info.
