Millennium owned by legendary Action film producer Avi Lerner has easily one of the most interesting slates this coming year and one of the projects is Rambo 5 starring Sylvester Stallone.
The project was announced with a lot of Shu Sha at the Cannes film festival and there were rumors that Stallone might be back to directing the film. However this news is not true as the film has finally landed a director.
Adrian Grunberg is the man who has been chosen to helm the epic film. Grunberg has previously worked with Stallone ‘s nemesis of Expendables 3 Mel Gibson in Get the Gringo.
Rambo 5‘s plot follows the hero’s journey to rescue a group of innocent girls who have been taken by a sex trafficking ring, with the complex character teaming up with a crusading journalist to retrieve the victims from across the Mexican border and in lawless territory.
In that case, Grunberg would seem to be a very solid choice to lead the project as Get the Gringo had Mel Gibson play a getaway driver and a wounded accomplice dressed as clowns fleeing from American police toward the Mexican border.
Stallone is back one last time and from what our inside sources tell up this might even be a passing of the baton and we could well see a new Rambo.
When we interviewed Millennium president Jonathan Yunger he informed us that the film will go into production this fall.
The movie will have a fair bit of shooting in Bulgaria at the Nu boyana Studios. Keep reading this space for more.
We at amdb.in wish the entire team all the very best.
