Good News: Stunt Coordinator Justin Sundquist out of Coma

The MacGyver stunt coordinator Justin Sundquist, who was hospitalized after suffering a serious head injury last week, is now awake and out of the ICU, a CBS spokesperson confirmed.

Justin Sundquist was injured in an on-set accident last week. He fell from the back of a tractor trailer and was placed in a medically induced coma due to head injuries. He remains hospitalized.

“The production team is cooperating with the authorities investigating the accident, and our primary concern at this time is Justin’s health and well-being,” CBS Television Studios said in a statement at the time.

“He’s not out of the woods yet,” a friend of Sundquist’s said. “He’s responding and communicating with his friends and family. He has a long road ahead of him, but he’s on a better road now. We’re all praying for the positivity to continue.”

In 2016, on the set of “Hawaii Five-o”, the stuntman was working as a stunt double for Alex O’Loughlin’s character Steve McGarrett when he was “struck and seriously injured” by a speeding car in 2016. In the lawsuit, he accused the production of “serious violations of minimum industry standard safety protocols.” Sundquist settled the lawsuit with CBS last year.

Justin Sundquist has appeared in several episodes of Star Trek: Enterprise. In 2008 he was part of the stunt team which received a Screen Actors Guild Award for best television stunt ensemble for their work on the action series 24. Two years later he won another Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Television Series for his work on 24.

Among his list of other credible stunt work, he has appeared in films such as Get Carter, Ocean’s Eleven, Minority Report, The Italian Job, Domino, and many more. He has also performed stunts in TV series such as X-Files, JAG, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and several other series.

We at amdb.in wish him a speedy recovery.
