Comic Artist Ben Dunn who started comics as a passion has figured a way to make his Passion his profession. The artist who’s created comics like Robotech and Captain Harlock has turned one of his comics into a real asset backed by the largest online platform.
Netflix is developing a live-action series based on Ben Dunn’s creator-owned series Warrior Nun Areala. The short form is called Warrior Nun.
The series is Inspired by the Manga novels. Warrior Nun revolves around a 19 year-old woman who wakes up in a morgue with a new lease on life and a divine artifact embedded in her back,
She discovers she is now part of an ancient order that has been tasked with fighting demons on Earth, and powerful forces representing both heaven and hell want to find and control her.
Netflix has hired Simon Barry to run the show . Barry has worked on shows like Ghost Wars. Netflix has seen great success with the Marvel Defenders franchise and has acquired the miller world franchise too and is rapidly expanding it’s novel division.
Netflix had announced last year a close to 5 billion dollar investment , out of which they have diverted 70 percent of their funds to the Action genre.
