Predator Hit theaters in the United States on 14th September to all sorts of reviews people trashed it some people liked it however are these films really made for the Critics let’s find out.
Predator was made on a budget of 60 million, apart from the Franchise value( which has way run it’s course) the only major value was Shane Black who’s biggest claim to fame was directing Iron man 3. Coming to the casting Olivia Munn was the biggest name in the star cast. Can 60 million as a total cost of production be justified.
amdb had predicted on the 6th of September A domestic box office of 50 million and a global box office of a 150 million with a 20 million coming in from China and a 60 million life time from it .
Well we are proud to say that the film opened to a 19.5 first frame and is well on it’s way to a 70 million life time over indexing us by 10 million. The film will fly past the 200 million world wide mark on Box office and a Sequel will be made for sure.
Though the film was slammed the film has turned out to be a success for Fox and the reason is very simple every genre’s audience and critic pallet is aligned besides Action. The critics think they can influence the viewers , but for the viewers the critics don’t exist.
No matter how much they trash these films , the films work on all platforms and is the only bankable genre when it comes to any sort of presales be it a big film or a small film.
It’s always easy to trash a film but the efforts that go into making these massive tentpole is beyond anything one can expect and that’s why the audiences show up for them .
The success of Predator shows that the audience of the Action genre have a mind of their own and can’t be influenced by Critics.
