Atmomic Blonde based on the graphic novel of the same and which was directed by Hobbs and Shaw director David leitch went on to becoming a success at the box office and talks were on for the Sequel however one didn’t know when it was happening. well now we know.
Atomic Blonde 2 is being actively developed by Netflix, with 87Eleven North (which is owned by leitch and his wife Kelly ) once again producing. Theron is also set to produce the sequel as well.
The reason for moving to Netflix could be many and there are many speculations going around , however our sources tell us that the makers want to make the film on a bigger budget and Studios are not approving it , Netflix is known for their budget allowances as they don’t have a PNA spend and that’s why the film will be housed there.
In addition, both Theron and Leitch already have a previously-established working relationship with Netflix. The former is starring in the streaming service’s upcoming comic book adaptation The Old Guard
while the latter is attached to helm Netflix’s The Division video game movie (starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Jessica Chastain) sometime within the next year or so
As of now no writer or director has been attached to the projects and it’s unclear as to if Leitch will be directing the film.
Leitch and his wife have an aggressive slate of Action films .
