Rebellion Studios the company the developed Judge Dredd and Rogue Troopers Video games is now Switching Gears to produce Action films and Shows Based on their IP.
The Studio has bought a large former print complex that will be converted into studio space for its Judge Dredd TV series, “Judge Dredd: Mega-City One,” and its Rogue Trooper film.
Duncan Jones (“Source Code”). has been brought on to direct the series .
Judge Dredd is a popular British Novel as is Rogue Troopers . Rebellion plans to expand it’s slate to more of British Comic IP”s and we hear new age comic god Mark Miller has been brought in to create a fresh batch of IP to make more films and shows on.
Rebellion is known for the “Sniper Elite” series and many more. It has a bank of comic book IP, having bought “2000 AD” two years ago.
Along with the Fleetway and IPC Youth Group archives from the same creator.
The Kingsleys who own the studio produced the 2012 re imaging of Dredd. Sylvester Stallone played the iconic part first.
The studio raised money against its IP and our sources tell us that they are in the process of raising more. Such is the power of Action Genre.
