The first teaser of Maria Gave us a feel of what a Filipino Action film is about. Though the budgets are pretty non existence yet they managed to put together an interesting teaser.
It’s the Second Red Band trailer that proves that to pull off engaging Action one doesn’t need the biggest budget.
Maria Maria Stars Cristine Reyes in and as the title Character. In Maria, a highly trained, ex-special forces agent-turned-cartel assassin (Reyes), has one last job to do.
How ever she deliberately misses her target and disappears to start a new life. the cartel finds her and turns on her and her family . Maria must once again go back to the world she left to save her family and end the Cartel once and for all.
The film also Stars Germaine De Leon (Buried Alive), Meg Imperial (Nilalang) and will feature action/stunt choreography by Sonny Sison . Sonny has done the Action on the film too.
Directed by Filipino filmmaker Pedring Lopez, the film has received 700 trend tacks with a solid B score.
This is amazing since the industry is at a young stage and Action is the genre to put it on the world Map.
Set to hit theaters on the 27th of March.
