This year has been a Massive Sale as always for Action films at the Cannes film Festival but the thing to point out is that a lot of new Buyers have enterted the Market case in point German indie conglomerate founded by KKR and Fred Kogel.
After Acquiring Roland Emmerich’s big budget sci-fi project Moonfall, KKR and Fred Kogel are all set to Acquire Action Star Liam Neeson’s Minute Man.
The unnamed German studio, made up of Tele München Group, Universum Film & TV and Wiedemann & Berg Film, aggressively came to market and reps a key new player in the European major which saw a box office downturn in 2018.
The conglomerate wishes to turn the fortunes of the the Europian Market and has made a smart choice in it’s Acquisition at this Cannes festival.
CEO Kogel said in an interview the acquisition of Moonfall, and Minute man the best and most commercial film of the festival, they set a clear sign for their positioning as an independent Studio.
The Minuteman, is an adrenaline-charged action thriller with Neeson as a Vietnam veteran who takes a child to safety from the killers of a drug cartel. The script was written by Chris Charles and Danny Kravitz. Voltage Pictures is on international sales and has sold almost 80 percent of all territories.
