If you have seen the little Philippine Action thriller Maria the film that was made on an unbelievably modest budget went of to become a winner at the box office and is Scheduled to have a sequel .
The director however does not want to wait for that and has decided that he wants to make his big debut in the big league.
At the recent American film market he gave a glimpse on his social media that he was tying up with Blue Fox entertainment for an Action thriller titled Escape.
Escape is structured around John Craig, a former black ops soldier with a penchant for going beyond the law. When the mother of a young teenage son falsely imprisoned in Manila.
She summons him to the job of extracting him, Craig and his team plan the ultimate escape – one from both the rising tensions in Manila, and the demons of John’s past.
The story is written by director Lopez and screenwriter Scott Rosenfelt (The Jade Pendant) from a story by Michael A. McDermott .
Maria is director Lopez’s fifth feature film to date and coming from a small market in the Philippines. Netflix acquired the rights and released the film worldwide outside the Philippines and as per reports the film did reasonably well.
