Universal Pictures will team with Dwayne Johnson and Dany Garcia’s Seven Bucks Productions and Robert Zemeckis’ ImageMovers to make an untitled action-adventure about the hunt for Genghis Khan’s mysterious tomb, which Universal just bought from screenwriter Evan Spiliotopoulos, who co-wrote Johnson’s 2014 Hercules movie.
Even though this totally seems like the kind of movie that Dwayne Johnson would star in, he will only serve as producer.
While a lot has been written and produced about the great Mongolian leader over the years, Spiliotopoulos’ script is for a contemporary movie which wouldn’t necessarily show Khan, but rather, adventurers looking for his resting place.
