The Kitchen will be a gritty Action with lots of drama that featuring three strong female leads as anti-heroes. The Vertigo comic graphic novel is an Irish mafia story set in Hell’s Kitchen, New York during 1970s it follows three mob wives who take over and run the business more viciously than their husbands after an FBI sweep catches the mob’s leaders.
Melissa McCarthy was recently revealed to be finalizing a deal to star in the film alongside Tiffany Haddish . The film is being written by Straight Outta Compton writer Andrea Berloff is set to make her directorial debut on the project.
Thus is the third female director tapped by Warner to direct for them seeing the success of Wonder women it’s a smart move.
The Kitchenfrom New Line Cinema and DC Entertainment is set to hit theaters on September 20, 2019.
