Netflix seems to have found their space , and the space is Action . We had reported last year that Netflix had decided to spend 70% of their original programming budget on Action films and till now most of the content in original feature film has been Action.
The latest added to the list is Michael Pena’s Extraction.
A father has a recurring dream of losing his family. His nightmare turns into reality when the planet is invaded by a force bent on destruction. Fighting for their lives, he comes to realize an unknown strength to keep them safe from harm.
The film is directed by Ben Young , Ben is pretty much a debutante . Though he’s made one film before it was more of an Indie.
What’s interesting was that Universal had developed it and was going to distribute it , however ast minute they pulled the film out of their release slate and Sold it toNetflix, Netflix Acquired it and will release it world wide.
Set to hit netflix on July 27th , the trailer has been received very well with 1200 conversations on trend track giving the trailer a solid B.
