War Party an initiative between Frank Grillo and Joe Carnahan Secures 50 Million Fund

Joe Carnahan the Director of the A team and Kingdom Star Frank Grillo ‘s Production house War Party has secured a 50 million plus investment to produce Action films. The fund though fronted by a private equity company has been backed by a Major player in the entertainment business.

In addition, WarParty has set a release date  on their next project, an original film titled “El Chicano. which hits theaters in November after it’s debut at LAFF. The film has being co-written by Carnahan and Ben Bray .

Carnahan producing and Bray directing and will be the third project for the nearly year-old production company following the upcoming “Wheelman” for Netflix and “The Raid” with XYZ Films.

War party has gained the interest of Legendary Action film producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura who will be executive producing with War Party.

El Chicano tells the story of two fraternal twin brothers, Pedro and Diego Hernandez, both raised in the toughest barrio of East L.A. Pedro is 10 years old, and a Vato Loco in the making, while his brother Diego follows his brother’s stylistic lead and influence but is, at the same time, his diametric opposite in both bearing and character:

Pedro is the dark to Diego’s light, but as young chavalitos on the mean streets of Boyle Heights, they’ve survived by watching one another’s backs.

Next in line is Carnahan’s 2019 action thriller, Boss Level from Byron Allen’s Entertainment Studios, as well as Joe Lynch’s Netflix-bound WarParty/Gaumont partnered adaptation of French crime thriller, Point Blank, both with Grillo starring and written by Adam Simons

Following that will be WarParty’s   American remake of 2011 Indonesia martial arts actioner  The Raid, in association with XYZ Films. Penned by Adam G. Simon and with Gareth Huw Evans (The Raid, The Raid 2) exec producing, cameras are officially expected to roll beginning in January 2019

Looks like the Action Party is just starting at War Party.
