Action genre pushes Sony Pictures passes the one Billion mark globally

Sony pictures Chairman and CEO Anthony Vinciquerra has got one motive and one motive only get Sony Pictures back in the reckoning in the top 5 majors and as results show he has had fantastic results as on date and the genre he has to thank is Action.

Sony is the fourth studio to reach the $1 billion mark this year, following Disney, Warner Bros., and Universal. The Studio has had a phenomenal run  with Venom pushing it in to the billion dollar club.

Venom is expected to remain the number one film worldwide as well. Globally, Venom has earned $381million, making it the 16th-biggest film of the year.

The Equalizer 2 has managed to put together 200 million at the box office making it a major success on the cost to profit ration.

Sicario 2 day of Solado put together 80 million of a 25 million production cost.

Alpha managed to put together 100 million off a 50 million production cost.

SOny has had 7 films out of which 5 films were action hybrids and that has contributed to almost 80 % of the box office.

The writing is clear on the wall in order to compete with the Majors it’s time to pull out all the big and bigger and biggest guns.
