This truly goes to show the power of the Action Genre. Actor Dev Patel famous for movies like Slum dog Millionaire and Lion. The BAFTA and Oscar nominee has decided to turn director with an out and Out Actioner .
Titled Monkey man the film is a Action Revenge film that is Set in Uurban India. Monkey Man follows A Child who emerges from prison to take on a world that’s lead by corporate giants who have forgotten the values of India and it’s culture.
The film is written by Dev Patel, Paul Angunawela and John Collee. Dev who is also starring in the film has been going through grueling training to get into the physical shape required to portray the part.
Patel is not kidding around when it comes to the action and has hired 87 Eleven the John wick and Dead pool 2 guys to design the action as he wants it to be gritty .
The film will be launched at the AFM that opens it’s doors to global buyers tomorrow . Produced by Thunder Road’s Basil Iwanyk the film has been announced at the absolute right time.
Dev has finished shooting hotel mumbai that’s based on the 26/11 mumbai attack. Known mostly for non commercial films it’s easy to say that Patel is now ready for an image change and what is better than a Macho one dont you think.
Filming is expected in the first quarter of the next year.
