Legendary has acquired the rights to Jeff Lemire’s award-winning comic novel series black Hammer.
Black Hammer circles the amazing struggles between heroes and villains in eerie City on the brink of collapse , in many ways it follows in the genre- footsteps of DC Comics’ Watchmen that movies into deconstruction of traditional superhero mythologies.
Lemire will serve as an executive producer and will be also contributing to it creatively. He is in demand these days: Sony Pictures is developing two other Lemire projects and Universal bidding for another IP of his.
Legendary has found great success with comic-book adaptations, from the epic 300 from Dark Horse and Zack Snyder’s big-screen adaptation of Watchmen and should gain the same success on Black Hammer.
