Action Horror has worked in the recent past with films like overlord performed well at the box office Legendary pictures has joined the race of Action Horror films . The Studio has the film rights to The Toxic Avenger, the iconic Troma‘ Action horror.
The Toxic Avenger centers on Toxie, born when the mild-mannered Melvin from Tromaville, he took a tumble into toxic waste. He’s transmogrified into a repulsive-yet-oddly-endearing mutant hero who stands up to bullies and corruption with radioactive zeal.
The film is directed by the Legendary micro film Producer/ director s Lloyd Kaufman and Michael Herz of Kaufman’s iconic Troma films.
Troma is one of those studios that has been in the business for over 35 years and has made multiple films , the model was simple to make movies super cheap and sell them in festivals and recoup a 100 percent of their investment.
Troma has many such franchises and it a wonderful thing to see their films being remade. Toxic Avenger was made with really bad Special effects however keeping with today’s technology it will be interesting to see how it plays out.
